Rishyap is a small locality of Sherpas and Lepchas on a hilltop in Kalimpong district. It is situated at an altitude of 8250 ft. Rishyap is famous for its panoramic view of Mt.Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan ranges. Magnificent view of Nathula Peak, Tibet Hill, Pedong and other mountains can be seen from here. Tiffindara is the highest view point for watching sunrise and sunset and can be reached after a short trek in the jungle.
Lava is a small town in Kalimpong district, situated at an altitude of 6500 ft. Lava is rich in flora and fauna and a suitable place for bird watching, trekking and other related activities. It is the gateway of famous Neora Valley National Park.
Lolegaon is also a small habitation of Lepchas in Kalimpong district at an altitude of 5200 ft. It has a rich is flora and fauna and well known for its view and virgin forest.
Tour Itinerary : - 02N/03D - Siliguri to Rishyap(01 Day) - Rishyap(01 Night) - Lava (01 Night) - transfer to Lolegaon and departure to Siliguri(03 Day)
Arrival and transfer to Rishyap
- Journey starts from New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction (NJP)/ Bagdogra International Airport (IXB)/ Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus at Siliguri Junction.
- It is nearly 03 hours drive from Siliguri and so guests are suggested to take their breakfast at a roadside hotel.
- Halt for a few moments (10 minutes) at Sevok Coronation Bridge for photo shoot (optional). Next the morning breeze and the lush green forest in the mountain will make your journey mesmerising.
- Check in hotel; get refreshed and feel the tranquillity of the place.
- In the afternoon guests are free to stroll around the locality and enjoy the surroundings. There is a Lord Shiva – Buddha Temple in lower Rishyap , guests can visit it or can trek to Tiffindara (nearly 04 km away) to watch the sunset from there .
- Overnight stay at Rishyap.
Transfer to Lava & local sightseeing
- Guests are suggested to wake up in the dawn and watch the sunrise (if weather is permissible) --- take your breakfast early and check out from hotel.
- Lava is nearly 25 km from Rishyap and 45 minutes drive depends on road condition.
- Reach Lava and check in hotel --- guests are suggested to visit the forest office first and get the permit for entering Neora Valley National Park --- it is mandatory for the tourists as the office closes in 2.30pm.
- Drive to Changey Falls --- it is about 40 minutes drive from lava --- from Changey Falls back to hotel --- get refreshed and take your lunch.
- Drive to Neora Valley Natioanal Park --- the most untouched and unexplored forest of Bengal.
- Back to hotel and the evening session is free to stroll around the local market or can visit the Lava Monastery.
- Overnight stay at Lava.
Transfer to Lolegaon and to the departure point
- After a tasty breakfast check out from hotel --- drive to Lolegaon --- 22 km drive through the pine forest is a wonderful experience in the morning.
- Reach Lolegaon --- the "Canopy walk" and the view of Kanchenjunga from "Buddha Eco Park" are the main attraction here.
